Selection of Lipsticks and Lip Balms for Healthy and Hydrated Lips on Kiss Day

Like the entire face, the lips are also exposed to factors such as cold, wind, pollution and radiation. The difference is that, many times, the mouth is forgotten in hydration and sun protection care. The aggravating factor is that the skin on the lips requires specific care, as it is even thinner and more delicate than the skin on the face.

The Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD) warns that, especially with the arrival of colder days, the wind, the air from heated environments and even some hot drinks tend to make the lips dry. Have you ever felt this in practice? We took advantage of International Kissing Day, celebrated on April 13, to share a step-by-step guide to keep your lips radiant at all times of the year:

Exfoliation: helps remove dead cells and renew the skin in the region. It can be performed once a week, with a mild exfoliant, in circular and delicate movements, so as not to harm the skin.

Hydration: SBD recommends products that contain substances with high hydration power, such as vegetable waxes, which form a layer to protect the region from external factors, avoiding dry lips.

Sun protection: in addition to causing dryness, solar radiation also accelerates the skin aging process. Apply lip balm with a minimum SPF of 30 before sun exposure.
