Culinary programs whet the appetite of little ones to eat vegetables and fruits

Television can even cause problems when used in excess in everyday life. However, a study by the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior shows that culinary programs can influence puppies to have a healthy diet.

As proof, 125 children from 5 schools in the Netherlands, aged between 10 and 12 years old, were separated into 3 different groups: one to watch 10 minutes of a cooking program on open TV with healthy food, another with low nutritional level foods , while the latter was supposed to see the same show format, but with a theme of competition between schools.

At the end of the screenings, everyone was sent to a snack with apple, cucumber, pretzels and chips, the latter known as food that is hard to resist. And guess the result? Nearly half of the healthy program group preferred plant foods (41%), followed by small school competitions (22.7%) and the regular cooking class (20%).

According to the leader of the research, Frans Folkvord, food education is a subject that should be addressed in schools, where it can have a positive effect on the absorption of content and skills, while a poor diet, focused on fats and full of processed products has several negative effects during growth.

The fact occurred because the puppies learn by observing the way other people act, whether they are parents, family members, friends and, in this case, children on cooking shows.
