Standing towel pulldown – How to do it and common mistakes

The standing towel pulldown is a simple and effective exercise for strengthening your back.

The target muscles for the standing pulldown are the back muscles, especially the latissimus dorsi. Also called latissimus dorsi or lats, it is a large muscle that occupies most of the back and connects the arms to the spine. Developing it helps protect the spine, improve posture, and stabilize shoulder and back movements.

In addition to the lats, the standing towel pullup also activates the teres major, which is a muscle located at the bottom of the shoulder blades. Muscles that work indirectly during execution to stabilize movement are the posterior deltoids, trapezius, and rhomboids.
