Chia Pudding with Spirulina Recipe

It's common to feel tempted when faced with a dessert, isn't it? However, often the taste doesn't outweigh the high levels of calories and sugar present in sweets, which can be harmful to health. Fortunately, it's not necessary to completely give up on these delights. The secret lies in choosing healthier versions of our favorite dishes. If you're a fan of pudding, for example, how about trying a chia and spirulina pudding? This swap may seem unusual, but it brings a series of health benefits.

Ingredients:

300ml almond milk

120g chia seeds

2 tablespoons agave syrup

1 teaspoon spirulina

1 serving of Red Berries

1 serving of fresh blueberries

1 serving of fresh blackberries

Mint leaves

Preparation:

In a jar, add the milk, agave syrup, and spirulina. Stir well until the spirulina is fully dissolved in the milk. In another container, place the chia seeds in the liquid, using a strainer. Divide the mixture into two jars. Serve with red berries, blueberries, and fresh blackberries. Garnish with mint leaves.

What is Spirulina?

Are you curious to know what spirulina is? This photosynthetic bacterium, similar to an algae, is extremely nutritious. Surprisingly, its protein content is higher than that of red meat. The benefits of spirulina were known to the Aztecs, and in recent years, NASA has recommended its cultivation and consumption to astronauts on long-duration space missions.
