Banana Farofa


Cassava flour has a long history of consumption by indigenous peoples long before the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil.

With colonization, other ingredients were introduced, such as onion, banana, and eggs, resulting in a genuinely Brazilian mixture!

In this recipe, we present an easy way to prepare a delicious dish with these ingredients:

Servings: 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of banana, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups of cassava flour
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

 

Instructions:

In a deep skillet, heat the olive oil and butter. Add the onion and sauté until it starts to become translucent.

Add the garlic and let it brown. Add the banana slices and stir until they start to brown. Gradually add the cassava flour.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Turn off the heat and serve.
